Our Drop-ins

What Is A Healthy Respect Drop-In?

Confidential and friendly information and advice

A Healthy Respect drop-in is a place where young people aged 13-18 can get free advice, support and information on all health issues, including sexual health, in their local area. All Healthy Respect drop-ins are there to support you to look after yourself, and give you the help you have a right to. They won’t judge you or give you a hard time, but will help you make decisions that feel right for you.

In Lothian there are lots of drop-ins

"They won’t judge you or give you a hard time, but will help you make decisions that feel right for you."

The drop-ins are run by different staff (for example, school nurses and youth workers) but they get support, information on how to run things, and materials, like leaflets, from Healthy Respect. The drop-in might just be one part of what the agency can offer, but you will know it from the Healthy Respect logo – that tells you that you can expect a friendly, confidential service. See how will I be treated? for more info.

When can I visit a drop-in?

You don’t have to be having sex to go to a drop-in. In fact, it’s better if you contact them before you have sex, so that when you decide the time is right, you’re well prepared. Drop-ins are called that because you don’t need an appointment – you can just go along.
